I’m thirty two years old, a future mad cat lady, and a walking encyclopedia on anything that gets stuck into my head.

Of course, one of these stuck things is the 5 Elements of Chinese Medicine, the other being various pieces of history and literature.

My name is the Scottish variant for Christina and pronounced care-ist-SCHTEE-na. My surname is pronounced oh-LOCK-lin. I don’t have much Scottish ancestry to speak of but, I do have a lot of Irish roots.

MY STORY:

(WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS WORK?)

I was in a black pit of depression in my early to mid-twenties, stuck in places that I didn’t want to be stuck in and didn’t know to get out of.

I started to use the wisdom of the five element patterns, focusing on the ones dominant in my nature, to coach and guide myself out of depression. I didn’t care much about where I would end up, so this experiment was perfect.

This self-coaching and resting and trusting this ancient wisdom, lead me to get the help I needed to get out, flourish, thrive and have the conviction to say “no” - even be authentic when I didn’t know who I was at 22-23 years old. The 5 elements provided a predictable map to my nature and to life.

I want to give the same guidance I gave myself in those moments to others, offer the same predictability, teach people the 5E so they can use it to not judge their faces and natures, and have more patience for themselves and others.

The 5E are essentially the biggest cheat codes that anyone can have in their life.

I would like everyone to have them.

The NLP I’ve been learning, t-NLP, provides the perfect framework for each session to learn how the 5E manifest individually for each person, and also for them to get the change they need without effort, willpower and overpowering oneself with self hatred, discipline and immense judgement.

  • How do you know about the 5E?

It was all happenstance and luck or rather “luck.” I clicked on an article on Chinese Face Reading on the internet when I was fourteen. Remembered it but decided no, a reading was not for me. Fast forward six years later, I have a Cesare Borgia fascination. One Borgia book is too large to read standing up so I find a chair. It’s in the spirituality section. I sit down. I look up after a while and see “The Wisdom of Your Face” by Jean Haner, the same woman who wrote that internet article I read at fourteen.

I devoured the book and here we are twelve years later.

    It’s all Cesare Borgia’s doing.

  • Why the 5E and not Chinese face reading?

I originally learnt this work as Chinese Face Reading, where we were taught to read faces and how to find the dominant element in each of them.

As my education grew, it quickly became apparent that it was less about faces and more about the five elements. About how each expresses itself in a personality, how someone neglects or emphasises each element, eliciting unconscious strategies from any element in an attempt to try and get what they wanted, and the elements as departments and territories in life.

The five elements are also not that well known in the west. So emphasising the 5E in this business, places that front and centre.

However it is useful to refer to Chinese Face Reading sometimes, like when it comes to dividing the face into decades or public and private sides.
